John Jones is living out of a cheap motel, juggling his job, hiding the Martian, his growing powers, and his unraveling relationship with Bridget — all while a shadowy government agency moves into town covering up the White Martian's attack with a fake UFO story. It's part of a visually striking, emotionally heavy reimagining of the character, more moody character study than action romp — a good pick for a group that likes atmosphere and introspection over straightforward superheroics.
